I completed my yoga teacher training at Om Sweet Om in Port Washington, NY. I am a registered yoga teacher (RYT-200) with Yoga Alliance. I also became a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Council on Sports & Fitness (NCSF) in 2016.
My yoga journey began in 2005 when I attended the occasional yoga class while pregnant with my twins. I was not a serious student, but recognized the benefits of yoga, in theory. Over the years I took classes here and there, but never with any consistency or for longer than a month or so at a time.
As I work with children (primarily children with special needs), and there is much research addressing the benefits of yoga and mindfulness for children, in 2012 I completed a 30 hour training program with Radiant Child Yoga (levels 1-3). I use yoga and meditation in social skills therapy.
Additionally, in 2014 I decided that since middle age was creeping up on me, I needed to get serious about improving my posture. I decided the best way to do that would be to attend a yoga teacher training, not for the purpose of teaching, but strictly to learn the postures. Within a few months I saw not only the value in what I learned, but the value in sharing it with others. I love growing in my own yoga practice and helping my students, men, women and children, grow in theirs.
